Dawson Technical Institute

Through the Construction Career Opportunity Program (CCOP), students attend Dawson Technical Institute to learn basic and advanced skills in the following:

  • Basic Carpentry
  • Advanced Carpentry
  • Cement Masonry
  • Bricklayer
  • Plumbing and Fire Protection

Graduates can be interviewed by participating contractors at CCOP Interview Days, held at Dawson Tech. They may then be sponsored into unions by those contractors.

Dawson Technical Institute is a unit of Kennedy-King College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago. Dawson's primary mission is to provide short term intensive training in business, health, food service and industrial occupations. These training programs focus on teaching students the skills necessary for employment and career advancement.
