Safety Award Applications Due March 31

Company safety information and applications are due back to the Builders Association by Monday, March 31, and awards will given at the Spring Meeting Tuesday, May 6 at the Hyatt Rosemont.

Partnership Applications Still Being Accepted

Post Safety Injury Numbers

Starting Friday, employers must post a summary of the total number of job-related injuries and illnesses that occurred during 2007. Employers are only required to post OSHA Form 300A (summary), not the OSHA 300 log. The summary must be posted from February 1 to April 30 and list the total of job-related injuries and illness that occurred and were logged on the OSHA 300 form.

New Rules For Industrial Vehicles

In 2005, there were 24 Powered Industrial Vehicle related fatalities within OSHA's Region V jurisdiction. In 2006, this number of fatalities increased to 30. As a result, in October of 2006, OSHA established a local emphasis program for powered industrial vehicles.
