Daniel McLaughlin, Executive Director
Daniel became Executive Director of the Builders Association in July of 2013 and is responsible for the implementation of all Board-approved programs and services. Daniel served as the Executive Director of the Plumbing Contractors Association of Chicago from 1991 to 2013, and as the Executive Director of the Plumbing Council of Chicagoland from 2008 to 2013.
Since 1993, Daniel has been elected Mayor of Orland Park five consecutive times. He has implemented a water conservation and energy savings educational program, served on the North East Illinois Water Supply Planning Group through CMAP and started two tiered Water Conservation pricing during his time as mayor. Daniel has been a board member of United Trust Bank since 2010. He is also a member of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the Illinois Municipal League, Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (National and Illinois), and Union Affiliated Contractors.
Stacey A. Kelly, Programs Manager
Stacey began her tenure with the Association in a part-time capacity in November of 2006. Her responsibilities include meeting planning, contract negotiation, and curricula; safety and health programs and initiatives; Industry Liaison Task Force, including the Business Assistance Task Force and the Construction Careers Opportunity Program; governance, Board and Committee liaison; membership management; marketing, communications and website management; Builders Association Political Action Committee oversight; maintaining all financial records and related responsibilities; and managing both the Builders Education and Training Foundation and Builders Scholarship Foundation.
Stacey graduated from Indiana University with a degree in English Education. She was previously employed at the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in Rosemont, and Arthur Andersen in Chicago.
Abby Koppers, Communications Coordinator
Abby joined the Builders Association in the Fall of 2015 although many members will recognize her from her previous internship with the Association during college. Abby is responsible for processing and maintaining membership records, creating marketing materials for all Association events, managing registration processes, and overseeing the production of our annual magazine/directory, Building Chicago. She maintains the Association’s social media presence and looks forward to growing these initiatives to better serve our members.
Abby holds a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Prior to working at the Builders Association, Abby worked for SmithBucklin Corporation and also interned for King’s College Hospital in London.
