AGC Receives 2008 Honor Award From National Building Museum

The AGC of America and its chapters have become the first national association to receive the Honor Award from the National Building Museum. The AGC is being recognized for its advancement of the construction industry for the past 90 years as the oldest and largest organization of contractors.

A gala will be held June 4 in honor of the AGC at the Museum’s historic Great Hall in Washington, DC. Many construction industry leaders are expected to attend the gala, including AGC President Douglas E. Barnhart and AGC Chief Executive Officer Stephen E. Sandherr who are going to accept the award.  

The AGC and members are receiving this prestigious award for their hard work promoting construction excellence. The many levels of the AGC have advocated the advancement of the construction industry. The Honor Award is a clear reflection of the AGC’s commitment to the industry, education and career development.

The National Building Museum’s Honor Award was created in 1986 for companies and individuals that are making an impact on our built environment. Many factors are considered and the recipients of the award come from a wide variety of backgrounds.
