Labor Negotiation Updates

The Builders Association asks that employers be aware that hourly increases in wages and fringe benefits will take effect June 1 for both the Laborers and the Teamsters.

The Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters is scheduled to vote May 15 on the new agreement between the union and MARBA. Wages and work rule changes will be listed after the union ratifies the agreement.  

Other negotiation updates:

  • Electricians Locals 117, 150, 461 and 701: The parties are at an impasse after nine meetings. This is the first time these four locals are negotiating together for the commercial and residential agreements. The parties appear before their industry arbitration panel in Washington, D.C. on Monday.
  • Plumbers Local 93, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 422 and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 501: Multiple negotiation sessions have been conducted with each union. Locals 93 and 501 are slated for additional sessions next week.
  • Bricklayers Local 6, Sheet Metal Workers Local 73 and Sprinkler Fitters Local 281: Two negotiation sessions have been held with each union.
