Grant Money For Diesel Retrofits
The Environmental Protection Agency has earmarked $5 million in funds to help construction companies clean up their diesel engines and reduce emissions in the Midwest region alone. The Builders Association can help you obtain a portion of those funds to help pay for diesel retrofits.
A nationwide program, the EPA's Clean Diesel Initiative seeks to reduce diesel emissions. Region 5 of the EPA is seeking proposals ranging from $100,000 to $750,000. Companies aren't eligible to receive grants themselves, but if your company owns diesel-powered vehicles, you may be eligible to apply for grant money through the Builders Association. These grants may pay for all or part of the retrofit. See a complete list of retrofits covered on the EPA's website.
If your company owns equipment with diesel-powered engines and would like to participate in the Builders Association's grant proposal, contact Andy Cole at 847.318.8585. See the EPA's website for more on the Midwest Clean Diesel Initiative.
