Fresh Look At Sustainable Construction
Over 100 represenatives of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers heard about a unique approach to sustainable building from Paul Hoffman at the Builders Association Spring Meeting Tuesday at the Hyatt Rosemont.
As CEO of Hoffman, Inc., Hoffman has built his business on sustainable construction and pointed out the advantages of that approach in his presentation. He also noted that LEED and sustainability don't always go hand-in-hand, and that in some cases building specifically for LEED can have a negative effect on both the long-term viability of the building and a company's bottom line. More on Hoffman and his speech will appear in a future edition of The Builder.
Those who missed the Spring Meeting also missed the presentation of the Builders Association's 10th Annual Safety Awards and more information on a money-saving AGC partnership with Verizon Wireless. The event was sponsored by James Schaeffer & Schimming, Pepper Construction Companies, Seyfarth Shaw and Alberti Group, LLC.
Any member wanting copies of Hoffman's presentation, Seyfarth Shaw's detailed comparison of ConsensusDOCS and the A201 document or any other handout from the meeting can contact Andy Cole at 847.318.8585.
