Annual Meeting Takes Center Stage

The Builders Association thanks everyone who had a hand in making its Annual Meeting December 3 at The Drake Hotel a success. Over 150 industry representatives gathered to network, hear presentations by incoming AGC of America President Ted Aadland and Governor Pat Quinn and review the Association's accomplishments in 2009 and hopes for 2010.

Aadland discussed a number of the AGC's legislative priorities for the coming year and what members can do to help the AGC look out for the industry nationally. Many attendees weathered through a delay to listen to remarks by Governor Quinn, who underscored the importance of the private construction industry to to Illinois. He stressed that he wanted to be the "building Governor" and outlined his vision of how contractors could play a role in the state's economic recovery.

The Builders Association was proud to recognize Tom Broderick of the Chicagoland Construction Safety Council and Geri Harston of ACE Technical Charter High School with Community Builder Awards and Ujamaa Construction, Inc. with the Corporate Citizenship Award.
