20th Annual Chicagoland Construction Safety Conference

The 20th Annual Chicagoland Safety & Health Conference will take place on the NIU-Naperville campus on Sept. 15-18, 2008.
The conference is co-sponsored by the Northeastern Illinois Chapter, Three-Rivers Chapter, the Greater Chicago Chapter of the ASSE, and The Chicago Local Section of the AIHA. The conference was planned in association with OSHA, On-Site Safety & Health Consultation Program, IL DCEO, NIU College of Engineering, and the National Safety Education Center.
Attendees will enjoy in over 45 sessions on current issues, an EXPO featuring products and services, pre-conference workshops, and a networking social with hors d’oeuvres and drinks. The keynote speakers are Mike Connors, Mike Mastroianni, and Norm Dasenbrook.
The pre-conference will take place on Sept. 15-16. The topics that will be discussed are General Industry OSHA 10-Hour, Advanced Training Techniques, OSHA 7100 Machine Guarding, Electrical Update Course, Preparing for the CIH Exam, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Women in Safety.
Registration is available by mail, check, fax, credit card, purchase order, or online. If you register before August 22nd you will receive an Early Bird Discount. There is a group discount of 10% off regular registration for five or more persons registering together from the same company. Pre-registration does not guarantee a seat for the session (except for pre-conference sessions). Seating is on a first-come-first-serve basis. A map will be sent upon registration or attendees can access the conference website and download travel information.
In addition to the main conference, the 2nd Annual SHARP/VPP Conference-within-a-Conference will run Sept. 17-18, 2008 from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. The conference is for companies that want to achieve safety excellence through OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) or Illinois Consultation’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP), as well as companies that have already achieved these milestones.
