Serving the Chicagoland Commercial Construction Industry
The Builders Association has served as a resource for Chicagoland’s construction industry firms since 1906, and has done so as a chapter of the AGC of America since 1918. The AGC is the nation’s largest and most effective voice for construction firms in the nation. Being an AGC member offers contractors and service providers a myriad of benefits and resources, in addition to the Builders Association’s resources in labor, safety, education, government relations and more.

The Builders Association is calling on the construction industry for its support of FY2016 (HB2913/SB2024) and FY 2017 (HB6407/SB3255) Capital Reappropriations. The Democratic majorities have not assigned these bills (proposed by the Governor) to committee, meaning that an extreme amount of proposed construction funding will be cut off if we don’t unite as an industry and take action now.
Due to the lack of FY2016 capital reappropriations authority, Capital Development Board (CDB) was forced to issue stop work letters in June ’15 to contractors, architects, and engineers. This halted work on over 200 capital projects in various stages of construction and design, impacting over 500 contractors, designers, and subcontractors, as well as thousands of construction workers and suppliers.
Pre-written letters can be sent through our government relations partner, ICIC, here. If you prefer to write your own letter, you can find your legislator through our website.
